VWMS Bursary Competition
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents who reside in British Columbia, are between 17-30 years of age inclusive as of the close of entries, and are presently registered in a post-secondary music program. Applicants considered professionals in their fields are not eligible. Download “information” for full details.
EVALUATION: Applications are evaluated on the basis of performance level, financial need, past and present achievements, personal objectives, and the nature of the proposed program of study.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 30th, 2026
TOTAL MONETARY AWARDS: Up to $9,000 is available for this competition.
NEW: DEI AWARD: The competitor who gives the BEST performance of a work honouring Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will be awarded the “Tony Roper Award” and a prize of $500. A brief statement of intent must be included with your application materials to be considered for this special prize. Watch for full DEI criteria to be posted on this competition page.
