Hsin-Lin aLICE Lee, Cello

Hsin Lin Alice Lee is a Taiwanese-Canadian cellist from Vancouver B.C. She is not only a cellist but also a violist, violinist, pianist, flutist and harpist. Her talent has been recognized by numerous societies and competitions, such as the Canadian Music Competition, the Richmond Music Festival Concerto Competition, the Kay Meek competition of the Vancouver Academy of Music (VAM), the Vancouver Women’s Musical Society, amongst others.

Alice has participated in master classes with highly-acclaimed artists, including Colin Carr, Amanda Forsyth, and Thomas Wiebe, among others. She has also attended the Casalmaggiore International Festival in Italy and VAM’s Sea to Sky Chamberfest. In 2019, she was invited to perform a solo violin recital for the Vancouver Women’s Musical Society.

As an avid chamber musician, Alice has been part of several ensembles, including the VAM Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music Sinfonietta ensemble, and the Aldo Parisot Cello Ensemble. She has also won prizes from the VAM Elsje de Ridder Armstrong Chamber Music Competition and the Friends of Chamber Music Competition.

Alice has performed as a soloist with the Richmond Orchestra and the VAM Symphony Orchestra.

She has studied with Joseph Elworthy and Sung Yong Lim.


Yeeun yENNY Lee, Mezzo-Soprano

Mezzo-soprano Yeeun (Yenny) Lee studied at the University of British Columbia under the direction of Dale Throness and director Nancy Hermiston. She performed in various operas including Hermia from A Midsummernight’s Dream, Olga from Eugene Onegin, Dritte Dame from Die Zauberflöte, and also performed mezzo soloist in Bach Mess in G minor and St. John Passion with UBC Symphony Orchestra. With the enthusiasm and talent for music she won several awards from prestigious competitions including the Vancouver Women’s Musical Society Art Song Competition, first place in the Vancouver International Music Competition, Belvedere International competition regional winner and the Encouragement awards in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition Western Canada district.. She traveled to Germany to sing at Damentee Staatstheater Nürnberg. She has been exploring many difference genres of music recently, and would love to perform them in the future.


Baylie Adams, Saxophone

Baylie Adams is a B.C based concert saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist originally from Calgary, AB. Graduating from University of Victoria in 2021, Adams holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance and minor in Philosophy. As a performer with a persistent desire to play, she is often participating in and planning local concerts or leading a saxophone quartet. Her most recent concert In Appreciation of William Grant Still; A Virtual Benefit Concert was awarded the Student Life Grant and Anti-Racism Supplement from the University of Victoria. Adams has lectured and performed in the 2021 Region 9 North American Saxophone Association as well as performed in several competitions receiving honourable mentions in the 2020 bursary competition for the Vancouver Women’s Music Society and in the 2021 FindBach 4D Virtual piano competition. Next to saxophone, as an experienced accompanist and pianist, Adams holds 3 RCM comprehensive certificates with honours. As a scholar she is preoccupied with contemplative and spiritual studies in philosophy and religion and is a frequent practitioner of meditation at home and in music.


Maria Hwa Yeong Jung, piano

Maria Hwa Yeong Jung is an active vocal collaborative pianist from Burnaby. Maria has worked at University of Toronto Faculty of Music as a vocal coach and staff accompanist, and accompanied the renowned Oriana Women’s Chorus and Acquired Taste Choir with conductor Mitchell Pady. She also worked as a music director and repetiteur for the Summer Opera Lyric Theater for the productions of Handel’s Cesare, and Marschner’s Der Vampyr. Maria is a graduate of University of Toronto, where she earned her Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, and Bachelor’s degree in Music Education under the tutelage of Lydia Wong and Dr. James Parker. Recently graduated from New England Conservatory of Music, she studied with Dr. Cameron Stowe and John Moriarty in the Collaborative Piano Graduate Diploma program. As a collaborative pianist, Maria has performed in many prestigious venues such as Jordan Hall, Walter Hall, Boston Atenaeum, Isabella Gardner Museum, Robert Gill Theater and Museum of Fine Arts. She also took part in eminent summer festivals such as Toronto Summer Music Festival Academy of Songs, Aspen Music Festival, Opera Nuova, Opera on the Avalon and Vancouver international Song Institute. As an emerging repetituer, she has worked with conductors such as Evan Mitchell, Stephen Lord, Jordan de Souza, and Judith Yan.

She has performed with Music friends recital society as a collaborative artist, worked closely with Opera Mariposa for their production of Puccini’s Gianni Scchichi and debuted as a music director for their opera scenes concert. She is a faculty member at VSO school of music, a vocal coach at Vancouver Academy of Music for their college department and a staff pianist at Shadbolt Center for the Arts Dance department.
